Humboldt Forum
For the exhibition “un_endlich – Living with Death” at the Humboldt Forum, we designed a room featuring data visualisations – as a starting point for thinking about when our lives end.
Long live death!
How do you make something tangible that humans cannot grasp? For the special exhibition “un_endlich – Living with Death” at the Humboldt Forum we worked with the information designer Ole Häntzschel to design a separate infographics room. These visualisations functioned like data paintings: large-scale on the walls, staged on tables, almost like X-ray images or luminous maps of our collective knowledge.
The visitors were confronted with fundamental questions: Which is the most dangerous animal in the world? Is it better to be born male or female? Is the world really becoming more violent – or more peaceful? The exhibition showed how cultures around the globe deal with mortality. Our infographics provided an analytical foundation for this.
