What’s going on over there?
Clinical studies on psilocybin and LSD, new forms of therapy, mental health start-ups: nowadays, the boom in psychedelic substances cannot be overlooked. Back in 2015, this development could only just be surmised.
For “News from the Other Side” Benedikt Sarreiter and Paul-Philipp Hanske began their investigation of why psychedelics were making a comeback in 2013 – and what science had to say about that. They were often asked what the point of dealing with the “dirty subject” of drugs was in the first place.
The outcome was one of the first serious, deeply researched examinations of the these substances’ comeback – journalistically precise, scientifically sound and with a narrative close to the people who were advancing research, culture and therapy. Today, the book is considered a classic in this field.
