Of data and people
The healthcare system is complex and dynamic – and combines research, technology, care and nursing. Anyone working here needs orientation and clear messages. We ask questions, penetrate contexts, create comprehensibility. This is how we turn complexity into knowledge that works.
The theme of our lives
Everyone has something to do with health – at work, as a patient, as a relative, as a contributor. The healthcare system affects us all. It is one of the central places where society becomes visible: in care, in research, in nursing. Healthcare is not an add-on, but a core pillar of welfare. It makes the promise of modern societies concrete: to stand up for each other when one’s own life becomes vulnerable.
A recipe against complexity
The system that ensures we stay healthy is so complex that few people really understand it. It’s about many things at once: new cancer drugs and the question of how they work. Supply chains that make ventilators available. Ways to relieve overburdened nursing staff. About the right support for the chronically ill. And about not only promoting the healthcare system on the African continent, but also seeing its players as equal partners.
We help those who help
We delve deep – into any topic, no matter how complex. We ask experts the questions that matter and translate the answers so that they are understandable and relevant – whether it’s about the effect of new inhibitors or factors that make a healthcare system resilient. And we think beyond health – in the context of the other major issues of our time. Together with our partners, we develop formats that show where and how health affects us all.
Not a normal job
Health is personal, political, scientific – and always existential. This is precisely why this area needs stories that are clear, up close and responsibly told.
Important voices
Everyday life in hospitals and laboratories is loud and chaotic. We tell the stories of patients and doctors, scientists and nursing staff – so that their perspectives are heard and become effective.
Important findings
Our scientific editorial team has experience with complex studies and technical language. We translate research results into clear stories that provide orientation – without losing precision.
Setting the course
Healthcare policy shapes the lives of everyone. We explain the course that needs to be set to make healthcare, research and care fit for the future – and thus facilitate an informed debate.
